I started to memorize Scripture verses 45 years ago, using the Navigators Scripture Memory System. The first book I memorized was 1 John. My husband became my memory partner and for the last 10 years we have memorized 7 new verses each week and recite 21 verses to each other every Sunday. In this way I have memorized all the New Testament books with the exception of Revelation.

I reached my limit. A solid month of storms in Dallas left many residents, myself included, with warning fatigue. The middle-of-the-night ritual of ear-piercing weather alerts from my phone felt like the one-drop-at-a-time water torture. The thunderstorm wasn’t loud enough, so now we need to be woken up with a reminder?

I started scripture memory in July of 2007. I was searching for revival in my spiritual life.
